1. About us

Tsundoku Club is operated by Tsundoku Club Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 17218558), trading from Doncaster, United Kingdom. We are not VAT registered. In these terms "we", "us" and "our" refer to that company. By browsing or buying from our shop you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. Some titles are age-restricted (16+ or 18+) and will be flagged on the product page; you confirm you meet the age requirement when ordering. For 18+ titles, the carrier may require photo ID on delivery and we may cancel the order if age cannot be verified.

3. Orders and pricing

  • All prices are shown in GBP and include all applicable taxes. We are not VAT registered and do not charge VAT.
  • The total price (including delivery and any taxes) is shown before you complete checkout.
  • Placing an order is an offer to buy; a contract forms when we send a shipping confirmation.
  • We may decline or cancel orders if a product is mispriced, out of stock, or suspected of fraud. If we cancel an order you have already paid for, we will refund you in full within 14 days.
  • We accept the payment methods displayed at checkout (typically major debit / credit cards and digital wallets via Shopify Payments).
  • Pre-orders are charged at checkout and ship on or around the listed release date. If the release date slips by more than 30 days, you may cancel the pre-order for a full refund.

4. Discount codes & promotions

  • Discount codes are single-use per customer unless stated otherwise, may exclude certain titles or pre-orders, and cannot be combined with other offers.
  • Codes have no cash value, cannot be applied retrospectively, and may be withdrawn at any time.
  • We reserve the right to cancel orders that misuse promotional codes (e.g. multiple accounts to bypass per-customer limits).

5. Shipping

We currently ship within the United Kingdom only, using tracked UK postal services (most commonly Royal Mail). International shipping is planned for the future but is not available yet. Delivery times are estimates. Risk in the goods passes to you when you (or someone you nominate) take physical possession of them.

Orders may be dispatched from our own premises or direct from our UK distributor's warehouse on our behalf. In either case your contract is with us, and books are packaged to reach you in good condition.

Under UK consumer law we will deliver your order without undue delay and in any event within 30 days of the contract being formed, unless a longer delivery period was agreed at checkout (e.g. for pre-orders).

6. Your right to cancel (14-day cooling-off period)

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the goods, without giving a reason. The cancellation period expires 14 days after the day you (or a third party you nominate) take physical possession of the goods (or, for orders with multiple items delivered separately, the last item).

To exercise this right, tell us clearly that you want to cancel — by email to hello@tsundokuclub.co.uk or by using the model cancellation form below. You must then return the goods to us within 14 days of telling us. You bear the cost of return postage unless the goods are faulty, damaged or incorrect.

You may inspect goods in the same way you would in a shop. Please take reasonable care of them while they are with you. We may reduce the refund to reflect any loss in value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to inspect the goods.

We will refund the price you paid, plus the standard delivery cost (any upgrade to a more expensive delivery option is non-refundable), within 14 days of receiving the goods back or proof of return — whichever is sooner. Refunds are issued to the original payment method.

Exceptions: the right to cancel does not apply to sealed audio/video recordings or sealed software once unsealed, personalised or made-to-order items, or goods that have been made to your specification. Your statutory rights for faulty, damaged or misdescribed goods always remain.

7. Faulty, damaged or incorrect items

Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are unaffected. Goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described.

  • Within 30 days of delivery you may reject faulty goods and claim a full refund.
  • After 30 days and within 6 months we will repair or replace the item; if that fails, you may claim a refund (which may be reduced for use).
  • If your order arrives damaged or you receive the wrong item, please email us as soon as possible, ideally within 7 days of delivery, with a photo and we will arrange a free replacement or full refund (including return postage). This timing request does not limit your statutory rights.

8. Pre-orders

  • Pre-orders are charged in full at checkout and reserve a copy for you from our first delivery.
  • They ship on or around the publisher's release date shown on the product page. Publisher dates can move; if a date slips by more than 30 days you may cancel for a full refund, and we will email you if a date changes.
  • An order that mixes pre-orders and in-stock titles ships together once the pre-order arrives. Place separate orders if you want in-stock titles sooner.
  • You can cancel a pre-order for a full refund at any time before it ships by emailing hello@tsundokuclub.co.uk.

9. Gift cards

  • Gift cards are issued in GBP and delivered electronically by email to the purchaser shortly after payment is captured. It is the purchaser's responsibility to forward the code to the intended recipient.
  • Each gift card carries a unique redemption code. Treat it like cash — we cannot replace codes that are lost, stolen, shared, or used without your permission once redeemed.
  • Gift cards can be redeemed against any product in the shop, including delivery charges. They cannot be used to buy further gift cards.
  • If an order total is less than the gift card balance, the remaining balance stays on the card for future use. If the order total is greater, the balance owed must be paid by another accepted payment method at checkout.
  • Gift cards have no cash value, are non-refundable, and cannot be exchanged for cash, except where required by law (e.g. under your statutory cancellation rights for unredeemed gift cards bought online — see below).
  • 14-day right to cancel: as the purchaser, you may cancel an unredeemed gift card within 14 days of purchase under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and receive a full refund. Once any part of the gift card has been redeemed, the right to cancel is lost for the redeemed portion.
  • Gift cards do not expire and the balance does not reduce over time.
  • If a purchase made with a gift card is later refunded, the refund is credited back to the original gift card (or a replacement code of equivalent value), not to a bank account or card.
  • We reserve the right to void gift cards that we reasonably believe were obtained fraudulently, in breach of these terms, or in connection with a chargeback.

10. Accounts and favourites

Favourites are saved to your account when you are signed in, and only in your own browser when you are not. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity on your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms, after giving reasonable notice where practicable.

11. Reviews

We do not host reviews on this site. Shop reviews are collected independently on Trustpilot under Trustpilot's own terms; we cannot edit or filter them and we never write, buy or fabricate reviews on any platform. See our Review Policy.

11a. Newsletter & marketing emails

You can subscribe to our newsletter to receive occasional updates about new releases, restocks and offers (typically no more than a few emails per month). You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email, by emailing us. Existing customers may also receive messages about similar products under the PECR "soft opt-in" — these always include an unsubscribe link. Order, shipping, return and account emails are service messages needed to operate your order. Abandoned-cart, review-request and similar-product emails are sent only where permitted by PECR and always include an unsubscribe link.

11b. AI-assisted content

We use AI tools internally to help generate marketing imagery and to draft product tags and descriptions. All AI-assisted output is reviewed by us before publication. AI is not used to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you, and your personal data is not used to train third-party AI models.

12. Intellectual property

The Tsundoku Club name, logo, photography, and site content are owned by us or our licensors. Manga and related artwork remain the property of their respective publishers and creators. You may not copy or redistribute site content without permission.

13. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law (including your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015). Subject to that, our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control (see section 14).

14. Events outside our control (force majeure)

We are not liable for failure or delay in performing our obligations caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including postal strikes, supplier delays, customs holds, severe weather, fire, or government action. We will let you know as soon as practicable and, where appropriate, offer you a refund or rescheduled delivery.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your order is the one published on this page when you place the order.

16. Complaints & alternative dispute resolution

If something goes wrong, please email hello@tsundokuclub.co.uk and we will do our best to resolve it within 14 days. We are not currently signed up to a specific Alternative Dispute Resolution provider, but you remain free to bring a claim in the courts.

17. Severability & entire agreement

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest will continue to apply. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, form the entire agreement between you and us in relation to your use of the shop.

18. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
