The short version

  • You have a statutory 14-day right to cancel from the day your order arrives, with another 14 days to send it back after telling us.
  • We also offer a 30-day goodwill returns window for books returned clean, complete and resaleable.
  • You can inspect goods as you would in a shop; we may reduce a refund for handling beyond that.
  • You usually pay return postage for change-of-mind returns. Faulty, damaged or incorrect items are different — we cover those costs.
  • We refund to your original payment method within 14 days of receiving the item back or seeing proof of return.
  • Faulty, damaged or incorrect items are always our problem to fix — see below.

How to return an item

  1. Tell us. Email hello@tsundokuclub.co.uk with your order number and the title(s) you are returning, or sign in to your account, open the order and use the return option if it is shown.
  2. We'll reply within 2 working days by email with the return address and a reference to include in the parcel.
  3. Pack the item carefully — ideally back in the same protective packaging it arrived in — so it reaches us in the same condition you received it.
  4. If you are using your statutory cancellation right, send it back within 14 days of telling us you want to cancel. If you are using our extra goodwill policy, send it back within 30 days of delivery. Keep your proof of postage until the refund lands.
  5. Once we receive and inspect the return, we'll refund the amount due to your original payment method within 14 days.

The Mint Guarantee — faulty, damaged or wrong items

Every volume is packed to arrive shelf-ready — that's our Mint Guarantee. If your order still arrives damaged, faulty, or you've been sent the wrong item, please email hello@tsundokuclub.co.uk as soon as possible, ideally within 7 days of delivery, with your order number and a photo. We'll arrange a free replacement or full refund — including return postage — under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. You don't pay to send it back, and the 7-day request does not limit your statutory rights.

Condition of returned items

For our extra 30-day goodwill returns window, books should come back clean, complete and resaleable, with no marks, folds, stickers or writing on the covers or pages. Sealed items (e.g. shrink-wrapped box sets or special editions) should still be sealed where possible.

Your statutory cancellation right still lets you inspect the goods in the same way you would in a shop. We may reduce the refund to reflect any loss in value if the item shows signs of handling beyond what was necessary for that inspection.

Return postage

You're responsible for the cost of returning the item to us, and for the parcel until it arrives. We strongly recommend a tracked service — if a return goes missing in transit without tracking, we can't refund it.

The exception is faulty, damaged or incorrect items: in that case we cover return postage in full (see below).

Items we can't accept back

  • Sealed audio/video recordings or sealed software where the seal has been broken.
  • Items damaged through handling beyond what is needed to inspect them may receive a reduced refund.

Your statutory rights

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights as a UK consumer, including your 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (see Terms & Conditions §6) and your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 for faulty goods. Our 30-day return window is an additional goodwill policy on top of those rights.
