Accessibility statement
Our commitment
We want anyone to be able to browse, search and buy manga on Tsundoku Club, regardless of how they use the web. We treat accessibility as an ongoing part of running the shop, not a one-off project — when we find a gap, we fix it and keep going.
Standard we're working to
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. This isn't an independently audited claim of full conformance — it's the bar we measure ourselves against internally, and we keep working through the site against it.
What we've done
- A "skip to main content" link for keyboard users at the top of every page.
- Visible focus outlines on links, buttons and form fields so keyboard navigation is easy to follow.
- Dialogs, menus and the cart drawer trap focus while open and close with the Escape key.
- Form fields have real labels, not just placeholder text, and validation errors are announced to screen readers.
- Animations and transitions are reduced automatically if your operating system has "reduce motion" turned on.
- Product images carry descriptive alt text where available from the publisher, falling back to the product title.
Known limitations
Checkout itself happens on Shopify's own hosted checkout page, which is outside our direct control — Shopify maintains its own accessibility standards there. Some embedded third-party content (for example, publisher-provided previews) may not fully match our own standards. If you hit a specific problem in either of these, tell us anyway — we can often raise it with the relevant provider or find a workaround.
Reporting a problem
If any part of the site is difficult to use with a keyboard, screen reader, or other assistive technology, email hello@tsundokuclub.co.uk with the page and what happened. We aim to respond within 5 working days.
