Vinland Saga: standard hardcover or Deluxe?

Choosing Vinland Saga in English starts with a format decision: the standard hardcover or the larger Deluxe hardcover. Both tell Makoto Yukimura's story, but their book numbers are not interchangeable.

The two editions

Standard hardcover: Vinland Saga, Vol. 1 has ISBN 9781612624204. Its smaller format is approximately 5-11/16 by 8 inches. This English edition is a hardcover, not a paperback.

Deluxe hardcover: Vinland Saga Deluxe, Vol. 1 has ISBN 9781646519781. It is a larger 7 by 10 inch collector's edition containing Japanese volumes 1–3 and bonus material.

Which should you choose?

Choose the standard hardcover if you prefer a smaller book. Consider Deluxe if the larger page and additional material matter more to you. Compare the current prices and availability on the product pages before deciding.

If you already own some books, check the original volumes included before switching editions. The same number on a standard book and a Deluxe book does not mean they cover the same chapters.
